Winter Days

We have been chugging along this winter. The last 2 days we have been "snowed" in.  No work and no school!  I am almost ready to go back to work!  All we do is play a while and come in and eat, and then eat some more before going back out to play.  I have cooked and cleaned the kitchen more times than during a normal week!  This is getting old!  To add to my growing agitation, Brandon has been sick today and I have had to listen to him mope around.  We have had some fun though!  Here are a few pictures of some of our adventures.

We had a cow that got stuck in a mud hole while trying to give birth.  The calf was stuck for so long that it damaged the nerves in the momma cow.  Brandon and his dad and sister had to pull the dead calf.  Momma cow's back legs were paralyzed and we couldn't get her to eat and drink on her own.  The vet gave her fluids and steroids on Monday, but she didn't make it.  We found her dead Wednesday morning and Brandon had to bury her.  I tried to hand feed her and I  shot electrolyte fluid in a syringe down her throat as much as I could, it just wasn't enough.

Kids took an archery lesson to see if they would like to pursue that sport.  Emily really seemed to like it.  Abigail liked it until she realized she couldn't do as well as some of the others.

Here are some of the pictures from the first small snow we had back on January 29.  Looking back, this was the perfect amount of snow!  Haha!  I took a day off that week too and we had a ball together playing outside while Brandon went to work.

Here is what the mud room looks like during a winter snow.  For this last "storm" we kept everything in basement which helps keep the mess down there on the concrete floor instead of overflowing into my kitchen.

Our winter party was held at work in mid-January.  Here I am with my supervisor and the Genetics supervisor.  It was good for Brandon to finally meet people from my work and be able to put a face with a name.

We went to the Landscape Show a few weeks ago at the Cabarrus Events arena and ran into "Bobby" and Mr. Jenkins!  This just made our day!
